Planned Maintenance Agreements

A Planned Maintenance Agreement furnishes more value than just maintenance on your generator. It is an ongoing record of periodic inspection and performance testing of your equipment. We offer several service options that can be tailored to meet your particular needs. Through this program, you will also have the peace of mind that your equipment is running at its best. A Maintenance Agreement will minimize the risk of equipment failure in the event of a power outage as well as take advantage of lower labor rates and parts prices.

Planned Maintenance Agreement benefits:
  • Inspection: Comprehensive operation and function tests will be performed on the generator and switchgear (where applicable). The generator will also be performance tested to assure proper operation. Your unit will receive a comprehensive inspection as outlined in our Planned Maintenance Agreement Checklist. Any necessary repairs will be communicated for authorization prior to performing the repairs. We will also “top off” all fluids that may be below recommended levels.

  • Service: Includes replacement of engine oil, oil filter(s), fuel filter(s) and any applicable coolant filters. For units 20kw and over, an oil sample will be taken and sent in for analysis. This will assist us identify a potential engine problems and communicate them to you before they occur.

  • Load Bank Test: Designed to simulate electrical loads for testing power sources such as generators. When a diesel generator set is lightly loaded, it never reaches full operating temperature and unburned fuel deposits build up inside the engine. This condition is commonly known as "wet-stacking". Using a load bank to artificially load a generator to 50% or more of its nameplate rating will reduce wet-stacking problems and extend engine life significantly.
    Services:
    • Annual Service and Inspection: One inspection and one service per year. Inspection will be performed at the time of service.

    • Semi-Annual Inspection and Annual Service: Two inspections and one service per year. One inspection will be performed at time of service and the following inspection will be scheduled six months after the service and inspection.

    • Quarterly Inspection and Annual Service: Four Inspections and one service per year. One inspection will be performed at the time of service and the following inspections will be scheduled quarterly thereafter.

These service and inspection options can be tailored according to your specific needs. We are equipped to handle a wide variety of transfer switches and switchgear as well generator sets.
